Event Description

The only surf contest in mainland China is coming soon!

Waves, wipe-outs, and more coming to a beautiful beach near you. We have free beer for two days. Cool tee shirts for everyone (see Monkey King logo above). Prizes for the winners. My hot yoga teacher will lead a morning class on the beach. 1/1/11 pre-party with DJ action Endless Summer (classic surf film) movie will be shown at night. Frisbee giveaways and free surfboards for everyone to play with.

Update: live band has pulled out due to car accident- sorry for this - we are working on a backup.

The cost for all this is a paltry ¥100, which includes round trip bus to the beach from downtown. Enter the surf contest at no extra charge. Everyone is encouraged to surf! If you don't have a wetsuit you can use one of mine. If you come on your own, a contribution is appreciated. You can also enjoy the free beer, tee shirts, party, contest entry, yoga, boards, and other fruits of our efforts.

This event will be held on Saturday and Sunday.. Bus will leave MixC Starbucks at 2pm on Sat and return Sun evening. We will go out, surf, party at night, wake up and hold the contest all the next day.

To book your seat on the bus, call 134 2439 6859. Book your hotel room by calling 137 9835 9132 (chinese only). Rates start at ¥250 for a room with two beds. It's a pretty nice place on the beach in East Chong.

You can celebrate the new year at the same old club in the city, and that's cool, but why not try something different? Come enjoy the fresh outdoor air on a beautiful beach and watch people get smashed by the waves while you get smashed by free booze.
