Our next meetup with be back to the first Saturday's of each month, being Saturday August 13, again in the Kingdee building of High Tech park.

This event will be focused on Copyright, IP (Intellectual property) and other legal issues in the Chinese export industry for ecommerce businesses. We have 2 speakers and will try to make it more interactive with case studies and case studies with the group.

Yubo Zhou, President of Unino IP Consulting (uninno.com), an expert in IP industry. Yubo has been studied and lived in the U.S for years before coming back to China

Matthew Kowalak, Partner of Southern Perspective Shenzhen (http://www.southernperspectivesz.com), a consulting firm that combines the manufacturing process with the complex Chinese legal system.

The Shenzhen Internet Marketing Group is organizing a meetup on Saturday afternoon, August 13, 2011, in the afternoon from 2pm to approx 5 or 6pm.

no date for next month's meeting yet... hope to have it on the first Saturday of each month. Trying to get speakers from Merchant Banks to discuss how to accept credit cards / money online.

seems a problem is coming up - due to universiade....there is a public work day on this saturday, Aug 6 - some ask to reschedule , thoughts?

Shenzhen Announces Public Holidays for Universiade

Jul. 25 – The Shenzhen government has issued public holiday arrangements for the 26th Summer Universiade (August 12-23, 2011), which applies to all governmental departments and institutions, schools and non-government organizations in Shenzhen. Other enterprises and groups can make relevant arrangements at their discretion. The seven-day holiday is broken down into two parts, four days and three days each, at the beginning and closing of the Universiade. The four-day Opening Ceremony Holiday is from August 11 (Thursday) to August 14 (Sunday), and the three-day Closing Ceremony Holiday is from August 22 (Monday) to August 24 (Wednesday).

The days off on August 11, 22 and 24 will be made up by shifting working days to August 6 (Saturday) and August 20-21 (Saturday and Sunday).
