Just when you thought things couldn't get any worse???

In our elevator, is a nice new message from the local bureau, they are doing visits, to each and every home, to fine and will prosecute those with extra children.

This apparently has all come about, due to a rich wenzhou couple recently having to pay 1.4 million RNB, for not declaring their additional child, no surprises right, the one-child policy.

It is my understanding though, that many of these people , are being victimised, and it is simply another "ill-gotten gains" or "get-rich quick" program for the local governements, in addition to this, only 5% of the fine goes back into the education department.

A lady who was seven and a half months pregnant, had been continually harassed by these arseholes, she couldn't afford to pay for the child in her womb and although she was 7 and a half months pregnant at the time.

Eventually they forced her to come with them, and aborted the child, at seven and a half months.......the family found out, and when they arrived it was far too late, the child was dead, but now these arseholes, ensured that they couldn't get any money out of her.

The local bureau denied, that they forced the woman at will, and insisted that she voluntarily complied with their requests.

Yeah right!

This place has so so far to go with it's treatment towards humanity, these stories, leave one sad beyond comprehension!

All for money, that's the Chinese way!

There was an article in the paper yesterday, at least I think it was yesterday, that indicated you could have as many children as you want so long as you pay a certain fee or fine. By the time I had finished the first paragraph of the article my ADD had kicked in, so I might have the details wrong, but it might be worth taking a look if you're interested.

It's not for me personally, and yes, if you pay the fine, each and everyone here should know this.

However, aborting a foetus at seven and a half months, because one is unable to cough up, that's terrible, and I am pretty certain, this is just the tip of the iceberg!

Aaarggg, brutality and sub-human behaviour at it's worst!

The one child policy has been in place for many years here and while I don't support forced abortion, people who willingly make the decision to go against this law fully know the risk of what may happen to them.

How can you deem it to be a "get-rich" scheme if the onus is on the person to break the law or not. If you don't break the law you don't have to pay. If you don't like the law, move somewhere else. Its just like if you don't like the law in some countries that you are only allowed 1 wife, then move to a country which does allow more than 1 or Utah.

Rob, we all know that.

My point, where else in the world do they force one to abort a baby , seven and a half months mate?

Come on?

Yes, this is another China has fucking problems thread, and once again, by stifling, or completely overlooking the point, the problem shall remain!

Come on. What is your point?

So your point is if you break the law  which has been commonly know for a number of years and hide away long enough you should be let off.

If we follow your train of thought and people can have as many children that they want, won't there be twice as many Chinese on the streets doing all the stuff you fucking hate about this place. Then the jokes really going to be on you!

No shit sherlock, once again Robert, and I will re-itterate my original stance on this.

Where else in the world, do they force people at seven and a half months, to abort their pregnancy, because they can't pay a fine, for none other than to line , yet again, peoples pockets with dirty money!!!

Do you think this is reasonable......??????

Would this happen back home, or even India, under the same circumstances?

No, I didn't think so!!!!

By the way, I have never once said I hate the place, you read far too much into this, as you deem it your right, to jump on the bandwagon here, and protect the little good that this place is regarded for.

I do however detest, flagrant cruelty and disregard for anyone who has to suffer this sort of brutality, is that not reasonable, can you imagine being the Mother, could she not have paid the stupid fee (or hong bao) after her pregnancy, somehow some way?????

No, definitely not, this is China, and it has rules, we are determined to get money, and that's all it is, despite the fact this Mother is going to suffer, do you ever consider anything like this as me simply being humanitarian, and trying to convey my thoughts, be them right, wrong, or indifferent?

And what are you doing about it apart from having a little rant on an English language website. If you feel so strongly, why aren't you on your way to Beijing to protest about it? This isn't NZ or India.

Once again I will reiterate my point. They knew that this was a distinct possibility that this could happen and knowingly decided to take the risk. Now full well knowing the law and faced with having to either suffer this brutality or pay money, they made the concious decision to proceed with the pregnancy. They could have avoided any problems by comply with the law and avoided the potential fine and abortion. I am not arguing whether I agree with the law here or not, but it is the law and if you make the decision to live here, you have made a decision to abide by the law or suffer the consequences whether they are inhumane or not.

I think any time a woman is forced to have an abortion whether it is a few months or 7 months it would still be a traumatic experience.

You also know that these "illegal children" if allowed to be born are deprived of many rights of a first or legal child such as health and education and in some cases the whole family is penalized.

Whether they know this or not Robert, the bottom-line is this, their own government advocates that this behaviour is acceptable, I vehemently disagree, and my reasoning and rationale behind this is fair enough.

I know this place has laws mate, next thing you know, forced sterilisations will be occuring!

Actually the NZ government is now offering benefits to solo mothers who keep having children and living off social welfare if they get sterilized.

only because it is in the book doesn't make it legit or right.  There is a high standard--morality.

For some reason there is not a lot of cred preaching about morality when your avatar is your face between someone's legs.

Regardless of ones avatar Rob, that is his personal choice, versus, having no choices, and having one of the few precious things in your life taken away from you, for the purposes of making a few more dollars.

Ie: the case of this woman, it wasn't her choice was it, no that choice was made by the beaurecrats, who too her " motherhood" away from her.

You think this is fair?
