Just when you thought things couldn't get any worse???
In our elevator, is a nice new message from the local bureau, they are doing visits, to each and every home, to fine and will prosecute those with extra children.
This apparently has all come about, due to a rich wenzhou couple recently having to pay 1.4 million RNB, for not declaring their additional child, no surprises right, the one-child policy.
It is my understanding though, that many of these people , are being victimised, and it is simply another "ill-gotten gains" or "get-rich quick" program for the local governements, in addition to this, only 5% of the fine goes back into the education department.
A lady who was seven and a half months pregnant, had been continually harassed by these arseholes, she couldn't afford to pay for the child in her womb and although she was 7 and a half months pregnant at the time.
Eventually they forced her to come with them, and aborted the child, at seven and a half months.......the family found out, and when they arrived it was far too late, the child was dead, but now these arseholes, ensured that they couldn't get any money out of her.
The local bureau denied, that they forced the woman at will, and insisted that she voluntarily complied with their requests.
Yeah right!
This place has so so far to go with it's treatment towards humanity, these stories, leave one sad beyond comprehension!
All for money, that's the Chinese way!

If you want your second child to have a hukou then u need to pay the fine, it does not matter if the kid is half-half.
They DO NOT fine you if the child is born overseas, since the child is not chinese. They will, however, not give the child a visa to stay (but a travel permit only) if the chinese mother does not have a residence on the country where the child was born.
Kind of complicated!

And are the kids missiing out on much given that lots of people are of of the opinion that the local schooling and health services are not up to scratch? Anything other way they would be disadvantaged?

Permalink Reply by Cynic The Troll on June 15, 2012 at 9:33pm Nice of them to announce it prior to the sting operation. This should give those families breaking the law plenty of time to ship one of the extra kids to the grandparents for awhile.
right, inhumane, sad, weird, and this is F Life. solution: dont date, dont get married, dont have children, die young, then you dont have to worry aobut getting old..
