It's been a pretty bad start to life in Shenzhen, a stolen bike and now my Macbook Pro has decided to quit on me. Does anyone know of a decent Apple service place, it's past its Applecare and not worth taking to Apple and I imagine swinging by Foxconn is a bad idea. Anyway if anyone knows where a good value place to get a repair [possibly logic board and HD] may be please, speak...

I'm looking for a local alternative that might get it breathing again and not break the bank.

Ask around and you'll find someone who's willing to give fixing it a go. But be prepared to go back two weeks later with a similar problem...

Permalink Reply by JD on April 19, 2012 at 12:28am You can ask the Apple store if your problem is a recall or not. I had a problem with my Macbook after the warranty expired, I took it to apple repair anyway, and they told me it was a recall, so no charge.
