I'm about to move to Shenzhen for work and would like to keep playing competitive amateur football on my spare time. I'm not a pro and I'm not seeking only highly competitive football, but I'm not a beginner either, not at all.
I see that most of the threads here are old, I mean up to 2-3 years old. So I would like to start this new thread targeted to everyone interested in kicking some ball.
I haven't even arrived to Shenzhen yet, will do in two weeks, so I'm not the one to organize this, yet. However, I ask all of you for your suggestions on where and how to play football/soccer in Shenzhen.
Thanks

Hello Erik,
My name is Matthew. I run two half pitch football teams here in Shenzhen and last year I built a half pitch football league. If you are interested in playing football I am always looking for new players. The key selling points of playing in my league are 1) there is no fighting, 2) there are no slide tackles this is to limit the number of injuries, we are all there to enjoy a competitive game not get injured, 3) the teams are all around the same level of competitiveness (no weak teams) and 4) it is a good way to network and meet people, 5) all of our games are held new subway sops so they are easy to attend.
If you are interested in joining a game and meeting some of the players let me know. We usually have friendly games every Saturday night around 8-10pm.
Best regards,
Matt

With half pitch you mean 7 a-side footy right?
Is it on real grass or on turf?
How many teams / players do you normally play with and where?

Hi Erik
It is 7 players and a keeper for each team.
We play on turf. Most pitches in Shenzhen are turf as the weather and use turns grass pitches into dirt pitches.
I have 8 teams in my league right now but I am expanding to 12 teams. Each team has about 12 players. We play at two pitches one being Kangjue (near Qaioxiang Station) and the other Lianhua Pitch (near Lianhua Shan Station).
If you have anymore questions I am glad to answer them.

Ok this sounds interesting, I'm flying in on Tuesday morning and will have to get orientated a little bit but I would love to show up on Saturday the 1st of September.
Do you have a QQ number or phone number I can reach you on? I don't have a Chinese number yet so I will have to work with what I got.
Hope to see you on Saturday!
Hi Erik,
This Saturday we will have three friendly matches happening, so it would be great to have you come by and play. The team that has the most openings is Malele they are also one of the strongest teams in the league.
My phone number is 134-2515-2817. In case you acn't call me I usually get to Qaioxiang subway station between 7:30 and 7:45pm the pitch is just five minutes away on foot. I can wait for you there if you can make it around the same time.

I will call you anytime between Wednesday and Friday with my availability.
I will start working this week so I'm not sure about how my work schedule and/or in training program looks.

I was wondering if there is any openings on a football team that you know about? I've been in Shenzhen a couple of days now and looking for a game. I don't have a mobile yet but send a reply on this an i'll get it.
Cheers,
Fraser
