As a foreigner, do you mind being stared at?

When I walk through any city in China I am frequently stared at.
At first I was a bit unnerved by this - it isn't polite to stare so hard in the West - but now I'm used to it. After all it's nice to be noticed instead of being ignored, kind of makes you feel valued in some odd sort of way.
I'm stared at even more if I'm walking with a Chinese girl. Does that make me more of an oddity?
Are the people who stare checking me out?
If this happens to you, how do you feel about it?

Well Tiger, that might happen much more in Shenzhen from my experience but it seems in Shanghai it's pretty much tolerated. Also, I do understand mandarin fairly fluently and some cantonese. But in the case of zenglander there is alot of negative talk about young chinese girls with old foreigners. But, how is this any different than a young girl with an old, rich HK guy (who happens to have a wife in HK as well)?
Once you're here long enough you don't even notice the stares anymore. If stares and comments bother you do the chinese thing. Plug in your mp3, put on some oversized sunglasses and walk down the street blissfully ignorant of what others are doing. (just mind the pickpockets and mobile phone thieves)

I can agree that sometimes while i walk arround with my gf, many people look this way, aniway, she is not rich with me since i am not rich, so, those people are wrong!
