Ok so now that I am back in Canada, I have found that many things have changed. Everybody is more politically correct to every body else and the whole world is now walking on egg shells so nobody gets put out.

That made me start thinking about a situation that I encountered while flying across the country upon my arrival. I flew via Canada's only airline Air Canada. It was a nice new plane and I knew that things had changed. Air Canada has changed their policy's to cut cost which I agree with for the most part, but they have now turned into money grabbing hounds and are working with other money grabbing hounds to make everything cost more money.

Let me explain further, AC has started charging for food on it's flights, so no matter how long the flight is you need to pay for your own food. Now I don't have a problem with this at all, as the food has been improved so you get a better meal for a small cost.

So here we were, my family and I, flying across the country after rushing from the hotel in Vancouver, to the airport, without eating breakfast, hoping to grab something quick at the airport before boarding where we found all our time taken up repacking all our bags to conform with the other new policy of this only airline in Canada. Flying across the country to Toronto, without food and to tired to eat, waiting to get to Pearson International in TO to eat, finding out once there that we were short on time and had to rush from one gate to another as the plane was 40 minutes late arriving and still with no food.

Boarding the plane we figured we could eat once on the plane so again there was no problem except we were very hungry as by now it was 4pm and still we hadn't had breakfast,so the tripe continue as the food cart was being pushed down the hall between the seats, it stopped at our seat and we were asked if would we like to buy some food. A resounding yes came from my family as we were starving by now, so I asked how much, the price was reasonable and I reached for the cash only to get a response of "We only take credit cards and not cash"  I looked dumbfounded as I replied "WHAT THE FUCK".

Now I started thinking in this world of politically correctness, here this only airline in Canada has rejected my business because I don't have a credit card. This is prejudiced against people without a credit card and it is also telling people that to eat our food you must be in a certain class that has their whole life on credit.

This is wrong on a whole new level and i want to sue their asses for a good meal.

So do I have a case?

What do you think can I make enough to retire by suing them for discrimination against me because I don't have a credit card?

I want to sue them, what do you think?

Not  wanting a credit card is not why I don't have one, the fact is I have a Chinese master card and they wouldn't take it even if i did try they wanted visa only.

There is discrimination here, and if I was anal about it I am sure I could get free flights to any where they flew if i wanted to.

Air Canada has been sued before for these same kind of Bull shit policy's. But they never seem to learn.

Read my link to filthy above.  No, they do not have to accept cash, just payment in CND and that can be from a debit/credit card.

I checked the website and they changed indeed to "credit card only cabin"

But, I see they accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express.

By the way. A national carrier, flying brand new triple sevens, don't include meals in their tickets on intercontinental flights?

Bleeehhhh

Well as I was making the story shorter I didn't mention that they refused my Chinese master card.

Well, Freakboy, the service at Canadian and US carriers is not very well. They simply don't have the money.

I flew Delta last year from LA to Memphis and they did not serve any food at all. Only coffee, tea and water!

Many Canadian and US airlines also don't have the money to replace older types in their fleets. At Air Canada it's not to bad but also they still fly with 767 wich sucks for a national airline these day''s. And at Delta they even had DC-9 in their fleet until last year.

It's all understandable from their point of view to save costs.

But to be honest I believe for a national carrier, wich Air Canada is, it's a disgrace they can not give a proper service.

Just be wise for a eventual next time. If you plan to visit China again with your family see for a ticket with Cathay Pacific. They fly direct from Toronto to HK. (nice flight, goes straight over northpole) Duration about 14 hours and as far as I know very good service and good legs and bumps to see to! About prices I don't know but I have spoken several times to people who fly cheaper from HK to Amsterdam with Cathay as I do with KLM. Best thing to do is to watch the special offers airlines give on their websites.

So my second advise is. Try to book as many times as possible at the airline site itself. A agency in between always fuck's up. I had several occasions other passengers on my flight had problems with their ticket but KLM many times can not help because they didn't sold the ticket.

If I have a problem I just knock the door at KLM check in site.

A pitty for your family to enter Canada in this way. Especially for your daughter it should be fun to make a trip like that to a new homecountry.

But as I said, Canadian and US carries are really sucking.

Fb, did you get any food in the end? Couldn't you have asked a good samaritan to buy you food with their credit card and you repay them in cash?

I thought about that but never asked anyone. We all got fed in Halifax after landing.

Sounds like the competition, can't be that good, damn!

Having a passenger not eat whilst on a flight, that's sacrilege!

Well  I wasn't on the over seas flight but the domestic flight, I will never fly Air Canada again as they give really bad service and  have fat ugly attendants in crabby moods all the time. The only place I have heard about Air Canada being the best is while sitting on the Air Canada plane and listening to them blow their own horn. As for free games and movies in the flights with your own personal TV Air China had that as well, was cheaper then Air Canada and had better looking attendants who would giggle when you flirt with them at 3 am while everyone was sleeping.

Ban Air Canada I say.

Try flying Cathay or Air New Zealand up there next time mate, better service, food, and hot looking Asian chicks!

Read my lips it was a domestic flight. Only Air Canada as an option.

Don't fly any American flagged carrier either, especially AA, nothing but fat, grouchy old cows.  I really miss Asia....
