I want to buy a laptop and they seem to be about 50% more expensive for the same specification in China as the UK. I was thinking of going over to Hong Kong to get one but wouldn't mind checking out the prices first. I know where the huge electronics market is but would like to scope out the prices first.
Does anyone know any good HK sites for electronic goods, something like www.ebuyer.co.uk but an HK version. I've been to manufacturers sites like HP HK and they seem to again be about 40% more expensive than the UK for the same specification.
(Sites that are in Chinese are fine as long as they have all the information)
Not so worried about the OS, I'll probably run Ubuntu and Windows 7 on it anyway but getting at one of the computer markets could be worthwhile. This maybe a stupid question but I guess the discount would only come with me withdrawing a big wod of cash out right and paying with that as opposed to debit card?
I bought Moon a computer for Valentine's Day and did a lot of checking. Could not get what she wanted here in China. In HK the computer cost 12,000 HKD with and AMD chip. Ended up getting from the US with tax for less than 7,000 RMB with an Intel chip and better warranty and even after that they dropped the price in US another 700 RMB. I would say buy it from US or UK if you can-big price break.
