Shenzhen Stuff

I am going to Hong Kong tomorrow morning.

While I am there I will update my visa, then take in the city. At night I hope to see some live music.

Anyone else want to go?  I have never been before and quite frankly will likely get lost.  I can navigate Shenzhen easily though.

I will likely stay overnight but I will decide that tomorrow.

Write your name on a card and pin it on your clothes, you will be ok.

The last time I was as Octoberfest in Munich, we were instructed to write our name and where we were staying on our forearms in permanent marker.

I read about the guy who just found his car two years later after Octoberfest.  See today's or yesterdays "Shenzhen Daily".

If my organs are not harvested for transplant then I will view the trip as a great success.

LOL, great response, have fun mate!

Why? Do you want to buy an iPad as well?

I have no idea how to get to get to the VISA office or best way to Hong Kong or where the nightlife is.  But I enjoy the challenge.  I have been to a few places where I couldn't speak the language and still have all my body parts intact.

I am probably asking for more trouble inviting a total stranger to join me then to wander the streets solo.

The Visa office is on Harbour Road in Wanchai. Bars that have live music are From Dusk till Dawn, Spicy Fingers and Neptune 2, all on Jaffe Road in Wanchai near Luard Road.

Useful, Thanks.  Robert and D.M.

This is what I figured out ...

1. Take 794 bus or cab to Shenzhen Bay Customs

2. Buy bus ticket to Wanchai before going through customs

3. Something about MTR exit A5 (not sure if I get on Metro or not or where)

4. Walk on bridge until HK immigration building, turn right, enter China Resource Center (red building)

After VISA has been handled:

A. Head to Jaffe Road or Luard Road and look for hotel

B. Head home to Shenzhen if no hotel

C. If hotel, hit Dusk Till Dawn, Spicy Fingers, and Neptune 2

Take the Ferry most comfortable trip in and then head to Lan Kwai Fong Road.

Here is a link to editable PDF VISA forms (you can type information into the form instead of handwritten)

*note though, you cannot save these forms. tried a couple times and failed so make sure you print a couple copies.
