A friend said because i am looking for a soul mate. i dont know if it is my problem or the city's problem. i begin to feel so disappointed. Have you ever encountered same frustration?

Stop looking. In many cases actively looking ends up being counter-productive. You start limiting yourself based on what you think you want and on what you think others can offer. As others have pointed out, you can't really know either of these without some trial and error. So be open but stop looking.
