Permalink Reply by Cynic The Troll on June 1, 2012 at 4:08am I hate to admit it, but I actually enjoyed watching rugby on TV while I was in Thailand. Though I don't really understand the game, it seemed that the Irish League was much more physical than the British one. Is there different kinds of rugby and/or rules?
Permalink Reply by Robert on June 1, 2012 at 6:22am Watch a Rugby League game from the NRL in Australia where the rules are different and has a longer history as a professional game. Easier to follow and used to be more physical. They have state of origin series where has the best fights in professional sports.
Permalink Reply by EK on June 1, 2012 at 1:26pm I agree Rob, for Cynic, Rugby league is the breakaway code from Rugby, it used to be more physical, and arguably still is.
In regards to state of origin Rob, the good old days, in the eighties the fights were bordering on ridiculous, but for me the most physical Southern hemisphere game , is when the Kiwi league team plays the Australian league team.
For the most physical Northern hemisphere game, okay for me, I reckon ice hockey and NFL, both good games, but like Cynic, I cannot get into NFL, but they have my respect, aint no pussies playing that game either!
