Shenzhens most overpriced restaurants
Of course overpricing is relative. What I am talking about is poor value for money where the price and quality do not match.
I nominate 2 places:
1. McCawleys- I only eat there when there is a promotion on, because their value at full price is a disgrace. Eg 90rmb for an English breakfast, 135rmb for a very average steak and 55rmb for a bowl of chips. The service is awful as well.
2. Le Bistro- large prices and tiny portions. Starving when you go in, still starving when I leave.
On the other hand some places are great value for money, like the Kitchen, Spice Circle Indian and the buffet restaurant at the top of holiday plaza.

That's the kind of money that you would be paying in the airport, not outside. And there is not much "near" the airport?
I'm guessing "Fat Angelo's" in Tsuen Wan Panda hotel shopping complex.

It wasn't Fat Angelos. They had tables outside, though we ate inside where there was something resembling air conditioning. I have found out the name was Nine Dragons, but still don't know the location.

seems you guys never venture out beyond Coco Park and shitty expat food.
There are hundreds of overpriced restaurants in SZ.......and usually they are the "foreign food' places.
Prime examples of horrid "Western Restaurants or Foreign Restaurants" are:
Super Steak (the special Shoe Leather at 300RMB is tops)
Yes Thai, OCT Bay, (or various other rip off locations) (the special of the house is G-d awful plate of diarrhea that they try to pass off as curry)
Les Marais, OCT Bay 700RMB a person for another plate of freight truck tire blow out on a plate, passed off as Filet Mignon, with a side of Campbell's soup....what a bargain)
Belle Epoque, Portofino, Nanshan..........crap and more crap, crappier than when it was in Lou Hu, and now MORE $$
Taste Restaurant , Lou Hu (tastes like shit is a better description)more for sure............but these stand out.
and a side note....had Black Calf Hot Pot the other night, and found a 2" grub floating in my soup......after 4 of us ate 80% of it!! Extra bonus flavor!

Korean BBQ in sea world, tried to charge us for the coal on the bbq and the lettuce that comes with the beef!! Half pint asahi 36rmb.
Avoid... will be back to HYG or the one opposite ABest next time.
Romulus italian was crap too, although may have been where they were new. Still, have had better microwave meals.
