Shenzhen Stuff

Hi guys, I will be moving to SZ next month for my new job.  It is located in the CBD right on the green line.  Do you guys have any suggestions on where I should look for an apartment? My ideal criteria would be

  • Close to a subway stop
  • Within a 30 minute commute to CBD
  • A vibrant/bustling community (I heard Shekou is good)
  • Preferably in a place where other expats also live

Also, do you guys recommend getting a business/service apartment or just rent a furnished regular apartment?

Gracias!

To be more specific, a studio or 1-bedroom apartment under 4000 RMB a month

A vibrant/bustling community (I heard Shekou is good)

second that.

What is the CBD? The China Bureau of Defecation?

thanks!

1. Shekou is too far off the track for CBD. at least Imho

In Cocopark (actually called Shopping Park) station you can both use lubao line and longang line.

Try to go 1 station to the south on Long gang line. The station name is Shixia.

That area is nice, in my opinion not too expensive. You have ShuiWei Village near which is basically open for 24 hours. You are close to the HK Boarder and with the metro within 1 Station in CBD (or 20-25 minutes with fast walking)

Don't forget Shui wei is a magnet village for pimps, and prostitutes etcetera, hence it's open night and day.

The first point you made was quite smart, yes, access to both metrolines is a huge plus, however the costs of rent are considerably more expensive!

really? we should SZS pimping it out night!

haha thanks, good to know :)

Thanks!
