X'mas Get Away
I am planning a tour for those who will stay in China for X'mas, it will be a four day tour to Yongding, the earth buildings is listed in UNESCO, bonfire party+fireworks in the evening, with deco Christmas tree,hiking during the day time.
Now is the planning discussion, please help with following questions:
1. When to depart?
2. Transportation. It takes eight hours to drive from Shenzhen to Yongding, pretty long, alternative is train, schedule for overnight train from SZ to YD is 21:26pm/04:48am, is it ok for you?
3. Accommodation. We will stay in a lovely guesthouse/round house in a village, with public use of toilet and shower, it's clean.What do you think of that?
4. The guesthouse provide dvd player, performances and dancing is doable. Anybody is up for the performances?
5. Gifts, we all prepare a gift and exchange it at the party..

Hi great to have a helper, I once planned a company x'mas party in Shanghai, with my German colleague, we are host and hostess, we did the deco and arrange the food and give sugg for the performances, everybody is requested to involve in the performance, it can be dancing,singsing, and kungfu play, anything!!!! great pesonal show time....You are American, it's your holiday, u can in charge of the music, short intro abt the history of X'mas etc...

Nina, I would like to join if the timing fits in my working schedule. I can't take long leave, so i prefer during weekend with 1 or 2 days extra. However, X'mas is on Thursday, so it will be a little difficult to bridge x'mas day and weekend.
Overnight train is ok if we can get sleeping couchs.

It will be hard sleeper, the tour will be from Dec.24th to Dec.27th,and the X'mas party will be on Dec.25th....The train is leaving sz at 21:26, so if you can take two days leave on the 25th and 26th, you are on board :-)
