Hi, friends.
It’s been a while since we had the last activity with kids from CIWI org.
Now CIWI is looking for volunteer teachers of spoken English class.

2 hours every Saturday afternoon.

Start from July 4th.

David Seymour suggested that we should have a teacher group, so the schedule will be flexible for everyone, You don't need to go there every Saturday( depends on how many volunteer teachers we have).

You can stay over night at CIWI center , enjoy the wonderful Xichong beach after class.

BTW, the kids said they miss us.. we should go there and visit them again soon.. any suggestion of what kind of activity?

Thanks so much for this group! On last spring festival a Chinese acquaintance invited me to join them in their one-day project of buying and distributing food and drinks to people who sleep on the streets in Hua Qiang Bei (Futian) and elsewhere. It was a very heartwarming activity - for both sides! I'd like to do things like that more often and therefore am looking forward to see what ideas you have!

Hi friends,
Thank you to attend the meeting last Sunday.

Here is some info. I want to share with you :
Groups will do the presentation by the following order:
1． Canada Group (David, Seymour )
2． Germany Group (Sylvi)
3． India Group (R.J)
4． Australia Group (Mark)
5． U.S Group ( Jaris, Jesse & Rue)
6． France Group (Benjamin)
7． Italy (Mirko )

Volunteer interpreters
Jae ; Jim; Starla; Luyao ; lindt ; petrel ; grace

So far 19 volunteers and 30 kids will join the activity .

Please prepare the stuff that you need to use at the activity, like national flags, pics , CDs, paint and musical instruments…
I will bring my laptop and projector , so anyone wants to show anything.. please send me the file via starla_shin@hotmail.com before Friday.

Since it’s a lil bit hard for us to shop for the BBQ during the week , I asked the founder of the Org. to go shopping for us.. and we will share the expense of the food… But anyone wants to bring some snack or candy for the kids…you are more than welcome..

We will still meet at Diwang building at 1230PM on Saturday, but since a lot of people will come to diwang by metro, let’s meet at the exit D of Da Ju Yuan Stop back door of Diwang) .

Hi friends
Thanks for all your support to the international day.

Since 9 on Saturday morning is too early for most people, after talked to the founder of Ciwei Org. We changed the time from morning to afternoon..
I got a bus sponsor, so we get together at starbucks of diwang around 12:15, and leave Shenzhen at 12:30.

We will arrive xichong around 1:30. (it’s really confusing there are 2 XICHONG in Shenzhen, we are going to the closer one, it will take us around 50 mins to get there. The beach is also good, and less ppl).

First we will visit some kids’ family.
Then we will start our activity with the kids.

Here are something that I want to discuss with you guys:
1. about the presentation
we are trying to teach the kids your couture, so please prepare : your national flag, some pics of your country, your traditional costume (if it’s possible.), and anything you think that represents your culture.
2. about the shows
I know some of us are really talented, and prepare some songs and dances for the kids, please let me know if you need speakers, and other stuff, so I can prepare in advanced.

3. about the food
It will be a lil bit hard for us to make the food at the meeting room, so half-done food or all done food is better for this situation. Anyone who want to share the food with the kids, please let me know, see what I can do about it.

Also, we need a interpreter/assistant for each group/ country.. the kids are from 9-14, their English level are just beginner.
