Thanks for your quick support Robert! Do you have a link for the recent notice?
Shenzhen Residence Permit Interviews with Public Security Bureau Oct. 30 – China’s Public Security Bureau (PSB) requires a preliminary interview for any foreigner that wants to apply for a residence permit in Shenzhen (applicants under age of 18 years old or above 70 years old are exempted). Only applicants who have passed the interview will have their residence permit application put forward for further review.
According to the recent notice released by the Entry and Exit Division of the Shenzhen PSB, starting from November 1, 2013, the residence permit interview for foreigners will be handled by the Foreigner Administration Office (FAO) of the Shenzhen Municipal PSB instead of the district PSB at the registered location of foreigner’s employer.
In order to arrange an interview, applicants need to make an online reservation before going to the FAO at the Municipal PSB. The following documents need to be submitted during the interview:
Record Form for Residence Permit Interview filled-in by the applicant
Copy of passport (including the pages with personal information and profile picture, a valid visa for entering China, and an entry stamp chopped when passing the border)
For residence permits associated with studying, family visits, personal affairs, or journalism, original proof of corresponding purposes will be required to be presented at the interview
For residence permits for purposes of employment:
Copy of business license of the employer
Copy of proof of a temporary place to stay in China
Original proof of employment
The results will be available immediately after the interview, and a “Notice of Acceptance of Application for Residence Permit for Foreigners” will be issued to individuals who pass the interview. If the police officer finds anything doubtful during the interview, or thinks further investigation is necessary, the applicant will be notified within two work days of whether his or her application for residence permit is accepted.
