Hi Corin,

Thanks again, buddy. Do I need a license to ride a scooter? How about a electric one? I´ve read that there´s no need for license to ride electric motorbikes, but I´ve seen many times the police stoping electric riders and taking their bikes.
Some e-bikes I´ve seen look gorgeous. For around 3000RMB can get a cool one

Hi Rafa,

You can still buy a scooter, the cheapest ones start at 2500, and even if you live next to a police station, nobody gives a shit. Cheap and fast way to get around. Just like I said, just stay clear of road blocks and you are fine. I am driving a scooter for almost 2 years now and nothing happened. I even been in a traffic jam next to a motorcycle cop and he just grinned and waved at me.

Hi Corin,

Thanks for the heads up. I live next ot a police office, so I guess I´m sticking to bicycle for the moment, haha.

Hi Rafa,

Driving motorcycles in Shenzhen is not allowed. So you also can not make the motorcycle driving lisence here. If you want to aquire a motorcycle lisence however, you can try outside Shenzhen.

There are a lot of people who ride bikes at night. They don`t seem to give a shit, and so does the police, apparently. So if you want to ride just get a bike and do it. Worst thing that can happen is that the police takes your bike...

Hi, can you give me some heads up? I want to get a motorbike license for China. As far as I know, I will have to make a exam to validate my foreign driving license. Can you recommend any driving school. Did anybody before had that test? Also, I´m not so sure about what kind of motorbikes can be used at SZ.

Thanks in advance

You bet Tom:

Commuting fromm home to office can be an adventure with unexpected free entertainment to say the least. Sociologists would tell a lot about the stage of local society's development based on the driver's behavior.

Enjoy your drive!

Love driving in China, every journey to work is a white knuckle adventure! Great watching all the tit for tat driver disputes and manoeuvres.... and the sheer narrow mindedness of some drivers never fails to amaze me!

ok Flemming, all points understand, thank you very much for help.

I bought mine in Shanghai. I think most Garmins will do, you can download a lot of features from the website for free, other language, different car, different voices and so on.

Mine is quite old, I think about 5 years. Just make sure you get an updated map, roads change fast here in China. I think you should buy it in China, to make sure you get the newest map and have the pinyin feature. Mine can change between pinyin and Chinese characters, I think it was about the cheapest model.
