I have both international as well as chinese license. If my car is registered in Shenzhen, can I drive over to Hong Kong?

I'm afraid not as to drive into Hong Kong you need HK registration and also HK driving license. Notice that Hong Kong cars driving into China have both registrations plates on vehicle.

thank you Charles. i was under the impression that hk is part of the nations that are covered under the international driving permit and thought that you could use that permit to drive in HK. It would have been awesome if I could have done it.

No need HK license, you can use international for sure, I have rented car there already. But I also have same problem with my chinese car, double plate reg is ultimate expensive. My friend look after this a year ago, he told me reg is around 300k RMB :(

Chentaur , would you help me or guide me how to rent the car in sz and where ? and what are the precautions one could take while renting a car.
