INTRO.

EQUIPMENT WILL BE PROVIDED. am a hard core Fruitarian Abolitionist, so I shall try to buy boards made of materials other then wood. Now I have a venil board.
BASICS WILL BE TAUGHT. I can teach you the basic rules. Wikipedia has all the riules.
RULES. I prefer to follow the Japanese rules (your territory consists of empty spaces sorrounded by stones, not including the spaces occupied by stopnes). Beginners are welcome, it is just a game.
BENEFITS. You can know a person's charachter from his or her style of play. It was mandatory for Japanese court ladies, and ladies of noble birth. The Japanese Shogunate sponsored Go tournaments and training centers.
OBJECTIVE. The objective is to play elegantly and honorably, more then to win. Such players were welcome in noble households.
DIFFICULTY. The game is more difficult then East Asian Chess and Western Chess, and sometimes is referred to as Sorround Chess. Although the rules are not very complicated, strategy is, which makes for a very enjoyable game. Worldly Wisdom and Ethics can be modeled with this game. Really easy to learn.
WHEN AND WHERE? ANY TIME (Call 13414508075), EVERY TUESDAY(!) AT THE BACK YARD OF MY APPARTMENT COMPLEX (there are tables there.) SEE ADDRESS BELOW.

It is near Kingglory Plaza (across the street from it; the nearest exit is exit E of Guo Mao St.)
Girls welcome, as it is a less serious game then chess.

A few weeks ago a student helped me download an ipad application - joygo.  It is free and the computer is challenging.  It got me back up to a nice basic level of skill.  It also attracts a lot of attention when a laowai is playing it in the subway!
