Management Exchange

There are a lot of challenges in managing projects, teams... because of the management nature itself and caused by the cultural differences in management, processes... between internationales cultures and approaches. Why don't we exchange about this?

People from all origins, age, activity domains..., fresh managers, old hitchhikers are welcome to share about this! Here is a discussion place about management only!

For sure different domains will have different challenges, but also common patterns, so this blog is not limited to IT, HR, Marketing... projects.

Please no posts containing junk, digressions, disrespect... that kill constructive exchanges. No mercy about that and I will exclude those authors and delete the corresponding posts whatever the rest of the message is good or not!!!

For those who are not interested by this content, pass your way.

All the questions or discussions about management are goods! Only answers are not good when they don't consider others ' needs, experience, meaning...

Because I'm an Agile Methods Fan, I would like to create an open space to exchange live on a regular base. Maybe once a month or once a quarter depending on participants' interest.

If you don't know what is an "Agile Open Space" please refer to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Space_Technology

There are no sponsors, there is no company behind that: just professionals who want to improve themselves. Yes stuff here is free!

Only your participation, or a 2-4 hours of your time for an open space are required. If you come and participate this is your investment and you get new skills, contacts, good practices,... it will open your mind on other ways to do thinks, or even discover issues or symptoms you did not yet identified.... Again, this is a personal investment:

  • There is no free pens, post-its, brochures...
  • There is no bosses, just volunteers for the organization.

If you never participate to a modern and efficient approach to make things better, that's a opportunity. No speech, nothing to sale... yeah unusual.

For sure it could have people who already know everything, who think they are good enough,  who does not feel the taste to share or too busy. Hey! that's ok, for the others you're welcome.

You can find agile communities around the world, except maybe in Shenzhen. The community is strong in Europe, North America, even in China (Shangai, Xi'an, Dalian...)

Interesting articles about managing in a open environment based on real life experience.

Which reminded me on another article about managing a flat company and the difficulties inherent to it.  The comments are also worth reading as some are very informative provide good arguments both for and against.
