Hello Serena, You cannot Log-on to a FaceBook Messenger app if you do not have a VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection. FaceBook is block in China. Those who told you that they can only mean that they have a VPN.

Hello Mikiya, Isn't it that the Apple Store in Holiday Plaza (Windows of the World) is open? Maybe you can bring it there and ask a Apple Genius Staff to help  you with your problem. I'm sure they can reset your iPhone 4S to factory setting.

Hi

I was using IOS6.01 ,having problem with WIFI,then I updated it to be IOS6.1,restored my iphone 4S and now I cant open WIFI.

I did some research,many ppl had same problem as me,is there a resolution for this???

Well, perhaps it's possible for Shenzhen Metro. It does not display exit for HK MTR stations.

And the bus info was indeed accurate as it's never failed me. So I loved it.

So where exactly can I find the file that you mention?

I am a technical idiot really, that is why I can't restore anything myself :)

For the maps app, here is how mine looks like, it shows the METRO Exit, which the Google-Map did not do before, it shows traffic and chinese names but no BUS, but i would not rely on Google-Maps Bus info either, better get a separate App for that:

Basically all you need a file called "iPhone4,1_5.1_9B179_Restore.ipsw" ( name varies a bit ) ... then u can rstore your iPhone to 5.1 with a few clicks ...

Well, Niko, if it's that easy for you, wilk you help me do this? Apparently, it's far from easy for many people.

As for the Maps app, I'd still say that the Google one was far superior. It had more details, plus it had more Chinese names on there (along with the English ones). But most importantly, it gave you information about public transport along the way, which the Apple Maps doesn't :-P That feature, in particular, was exceptionally usrful to me as I now have to travel unfamiliar routes quite often. The new Maps can hardly help me much now. I want the old Maps back! :_-(

i think iOS6 has some glitches but overall i dont have much hickups, the map app works 90% as expected it happened once so far that the shown position was off ... generally i have to say that the details on the new Maps-App is great deal better than what google used to show ... 

Downgrading is generally not a very good idea, rather its better to wait before upgrading, but you can do it with a iOS5 Restore File which is quite easy.

Thanks very much for your help. I've tried installing the App and it just opens the maps in a web browser. I'd already added an icon from Google Maps which seems to be working the same. It's better than nothing, of course, but the Web version of the maps is slower than the app used to be and a couple of features cannot be used the same way...
