@ Roy

I do the same but i am in the process of the very expensive route of business registration. How long has he been doing it and does he head in and out in 1 day no problem?

How long has he been doing this?

Hi Guys

Just want to find out how many of my fellow South Africans are here on a Z - Visa and how many a F - Visa? If you are on a F - Visa do you do the HK trip every 30 days?

Please let me know your answers

I am not a South African , but I will take your "braais" and your "castle lager" any day! :-)
Both are exquisite , have tried both a few times before in the land of the long white cloud.
Cheers :-)

Hi everyone,

Happy Chinese New Year of the Rabbit to all of you there in Shenzhen.

Yes, the visa problems do stay on the lips of every South African abroad. Seems as if a z-visa is as scarce as "hoendertande" these days in Shenzhen. The real answer to this problem is not known and will never be known so to speak.

As Walter commented, it seems as if things are shining bright for South Africa and China at the moment. But with regards to the visa problem, there is not even a light at the end of the tunnel so to speak. Everyone is asking the same question, but without any real solution at the end of the day.

Passports have a newly added hard plastic covered page at the back these days. Also there is a hologram type of security feature added for extra security. All necessary details are there and there is even a type of lazer engraved map of all 9 provinces too. I do believe that this is much better than the old passport. But this is only my personal opinion.

Visa's is still a matter of urgency and I want to ask all South African friends abroad to stand together and help each other in this regard. If anyone have some good information on visa's that may help your fellow friend, then please send him or her the details personally to their "Inbox". We should stand together abroad and let the sun shine on all of us. After all, we are proudly SA and that will never change......

I would certainly like to hear what you guys have to say on this. I will keep looking for information and will pass it on then.

Enjoy all the coming New Year celebrations and the fireworks too!

Hi Karin. If you are with a decent school you can get a visa easily. What kind of teaching agency are you using? Is it an actually school or an agent who is helping you find a job? If it is an agent - Stay away from them. They take most of your salary every month and if you don;t pay up threaten you. so not cool. My friend goes through a travel agency that get her like a tourist or business visa - I will only see her Saturday and then I'll post again and let you know.

Hi Karin, this sounds a bit fishy, the best is to go to the Chinese Immigration department with someone who can speak Chinese and verify it yourself, dont believe half of what people tell you in China. They will tell you anything if they are not sure. If you are living in Nanshan you can get a teaching job here and just use a tourist visa and cross the border every 30 days at Shenzhen Bay it takes about 30 min each time. Work visa's are not easy to come by!
