Hey all.

Check out this radio show, specifically the 2nd half by Cliff. It talks about a new campaign to raise massive global awareness.

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/zmglobal/2012/04/04/tzm-global-radio-s...

The campaign is extremely easy to do... we just make some t-shirts, get some clipboards, go down-town, ask a few survey questions to people, grab a couple emails, and then send them in to the central email database.

Later these people will be sent an information package all about Zeitgeist and torrents with the movies and stuff like that.

Projected numbers of the results we can get... if each chapter only gets 10 emails per week it equals:
10 x 1000-chapters = 10,000
10,000 x 4-weeks in a month = 40,000
40,000 x 12-months =  480,000 emails per year.

It would be great to actually do some zeitgeist activism here in china, which seems extremely difficult to most... and it sounds incredibly easy to do our parts for the contribution towards global awareness and critical mass.

heres the campaign:  http://oneplanetproject.net/

My chinese is only intermediate, but with some practice i'll be able to ask the questions and get the emails. Is anyone else interested in taking a crack at this? Only needs 2-4 people for a couple hours a week and it would be fun.

Anyway listen to the radioshow, check out the campaign, and let me know if you'd like to slowly begin trying this with me.

Hey ORea welcome to the group.

It does seem like the flaws of the capitalism system are now fully coming to fruition bringing with it the whole slew of problems we see today.

I'm actually of the opinion that greed or excessive desire is a quality instilled into us because it how we measure success in the current system is based largely off of how much wealth and property one can accumulate.

We are trained to be competitive, to try to outdo our peers, we are conditioned by advertising to 'need' more and more stuff and so on.

Even before the marketing push at the end of the great depression people had a much lessoned desire for accumulate more and more.
It really seems to me that there is no 'human nature' beside minor genetic influences which are easily overcome through education.

Having said all that, the only way that a resource based economy will ever be implemented is if there is a change of values of people from growth and accumulation and competition to living in balance with nature, using sustainable means and working together.

So while this value shift may be the most improbably thing, its also the most necessary and I think it has to happen one way or another as we continue to fill the planet and use its resources... just how long it takes is the question.

So long as certain humans maintain this subservient attitude and accept the "place" assigned to them by society, a kind of peace does exist. But it is an uneasy peace in which some are forced patiently to submit to insult, injustice and exploitation, and thus, it is a negative peace))))))))))))))From the blog u recommended
