Comment by João Fernandes on November 8, 2012 at 1:39am Hi,
Here it is a workaround in order to have the google maps app in your phone. This will install the Google Maps web version as an app in your iPhone.
Open this link in your iPhone and install it:
Comment by 我是维奇 on November 8, 2012 at 1:13am Hey, J-STAR,
I'd be delighted to hear your results. Seems like there are so many people out there desperately looking for ways to change back. Something MUST be wrong when you see this kind of thing happening :-P
GrayDude: I am definitely not a techie and I can't be sure how similar or different the iOS 5 and 6 are, however, I know that I don't like the new version of Youtube, I hate the Apple Maps which are as good as useless. Also, battery drainage seems to have gone up after the upgrade. Now, if all these things are called an "upgrade", then I want none of it, thank you very much.
Comment by Dear Professor on November 2, 2012 at 2:23am Because you are holding it 90 degrees sideways when you take the movie.
You can turn your phone, but not your computer.
Just a guess. ;-D

Comment by GrayDude ™ on October 30, 2012 at 12:33am Well J-Star, I think it's a completely different process if you Jailbreak your iPhone. Definitely, there might be some firmware changes that happens or a part of system restore was deleted.
Please do share if you happen to find a solution here so that people will know what to do if they accidentally upgraded to the freaking iOS 6. Thanks.
Comment by J - STAR* on October 30, 2012 at 12:21am @ Victoria , I'm facing the same problem with my iphone also but i have found a person who can change the software to previous version. Let me fix my phone first than i let you know if its ok or not.
@Gray Dude, bro even you use itunes it will update or restore to the new version its very hard to get back to the previous one. I have try all this support. I lost my all software coz my phone was Jailbreak. And when i update my phone i lost everything except the contacts , msgs, and some free software which i download, all the software which i download from jailbreak are gone :( ...
I will let you know if i can find some information about that.
Comment by GrayDude ™ on October 30, 2012 at 12:08am @ Victoria: The only way to install the factory installed iOS is through iTunes. If you don't have one in your PC. Download and install it first. Then connect your iPhone 4 to your Laptop. Follow instruction on this site or click below:

The only benefit of iOS 6 is for the US usage because of the Proprietary Apple Map app and in China because its integration with its local internet content services. Other than these two its the same.
Comment by 我是维奇 on October 25, 2012 at 4:33pm Alas, GrayDude, you were so right about updates and upgrades!
I've stupidly upgraded to iOS6 on my iPhone 4, before reading all the shocking reviews on the Internet. Now I am looking for ways to try to revert back to iOS5...I've searched the net, but seems like a lot of what's posted does not work for everyone and - the worst part! - it all sounds terribly technical. It's all Greek to me! TinyUmbrella, redshow, SHSH blobs...What the heck are these and how to make sense of them?
Honestly, I am ready to pay someone who would help me roll it back to the previous iOS! Anyone out there?
