With KISS in Detroit
I think this was 1989. One of the advantages to being a comedian is you bump into other entertainers a lot. This was one of those lucky times. At first, I thought they were impersonators, but then I found out, they were the genuine article. Look at Gene's tongue. No mistakin' that.

I have met all of the original members( Ace and Peter in Edmonton backstage on their "Bad Boys" Tour) and in St.Paul at a KISS Convention (Gene, Paul, Bruce, and Eric) just months before they decided to reunite. I watched them perform 4 times- 3 times with make-up and one time unplugged. I have also attended KISS cover band performances. I was not there but please consider this: Paul Stanley never shaves his chest and is in better shape than this "Paul" in the photo even at Paul's age(60 years old). Gene(6' 2") is the tallest member in the group and the real Ace(6' 1") and Paul(6' 0") are about same height but it doesn't appear that way in this photo. This Ace's shoulder pads are too wide and he should be about the same height as Paul or more in this photo (even though Ace is not standing up straight). Where is the entourage in the photo? Look in the reflection of the window. Where is everyone? There are a lot of KISS cover bands out there. Come on, Rory. I believe your other photos with celebrities but just not this one based on facts and not faith.

JAG, Thanks for the rain on the parade. You weren't there. It was Detroit, and after posting this picture, I checked the date -- it was when they made their comeback tour at Detroit Rock City. If these guys were phonies, I choose not to believe it. They had an entourage of clipboard carrying "suits" with them, who were hurrying them along and the Gene Simmons (imposter?) put his tongue out about twice a s far as you see in this pick. Thanks anyway.
