I rarely make generalisations based on people's nationality or ethnicity, however small/young they are, so the only answer I've got to that question is ... ehrm ... Chinese children are born in China and British etc ... children are children, and any trends you spot among any one class wherever it is, will be quickly overturned by one or more pupils in your class ...

Maybe the noise and age thing do go together ... maybe teaching 5 and 6 year olds is why I refuse to grow old gracefully, or maybe it's my own immaturity that keeps me loving the job and ignoring things like the noisy environment ... who's to say? It's different strokes, right, Cathy ..? We do what we do to earn a living for a number of reasons, and I realise I'm probably part of a lucky minority that chose my career for the love ot it, rather than the amount of RMB/pounds/wonga paid into my bank each month, and continue to relish getting up for work every day ...
