Moving to Coco Park area from Hong Kong. Can I bring my LCD TV across the border?

Thanks Joe! Hopefully my experience will go as smoothly as yours. Everything I'm taking is older stuff, but I threw out all the receipts a long time ago. I'll post back my experience after I move. :)

haha that's awesome dude. Love it. Thanks for the advice. I actually think my TV might fit in a luggage case. I might give it a shot. Worst case is I pay tax on it. I heard it's 20%?

As long as the stuff does not look new, it should not be a problem. My band and I carry our guitars and amps across the border all the time, never had a problem. When we buy new stuff in HK at Tom Lee, we just throw it in an old case.

If you're moving to live in China, and these items are not new, you shouldn't have to pay any tax. It's always better if you have receipts to prove they're not old. When I moved from HK to SZ, I brought over a lot of things new, in original boxes,…

I shipped few personal stuff from back home by Air Cargo when I first came here, one of the items was a new 42Inch LCD. I had to get an Import permit in Huang Gang border for my containers and I was prepared to pay 800RMB Duty for the 42inch TV but…

No idea how high the tax - next time you are crossing by Futian border, you can check - they have everything on a big white board (in Chinese, though). Be sure to have an invoice for that, otherwise they might use some standard prices, and God knows…
