The very best days of kitesurfing at our club's venue is when the wind shifts to South in March / April because we have a steady 15 / 25 knots and blue blue sky. Now in Autumn is pretty good too, the last 25 days, 2 days were below 10 knots... But all winter is usually the most consistent time when the N-E Monsoon blows in the all South Asia Pacific region. So June / July / August are the months with the lowest wind averages, but still we have been nicely surprised this Summer.
Jeez you are confusing me, I thought a year had 365 days (+1 every 4). So technically there would be 65 days without wind here in Haikou (I keep records for the last 3 seasons). We'll try our best that if you come 1 week, you'll have one day without wind to have your nails polished or a visit at the local SPA for a good treat...
Seriously, it's a great venue for kiteboarding. And more and more people start to know about it, here is a picture of our school venue, in low tide: sand bars up to 2 Km from the shore... More pictures available at: http://www.shenzhenstuff.com/group/mandarinsurf
Thanks for commenting on the Shark's fin discussion, I appreciate your opinion.
Our venue in Haikou is really great for kiteboarding. We have about 300 days a year for riding kites. And we have a super shallow area, pefect for people like you learning to get on the board. It's actually great for freestyle freaks too.
Thanks for adding me, have you ever done kiteboarding before? I live in Hainan where we have perfect conditions to ride. You can check my pictures, it will tell you more than words about the great conditions we have there.
Hey Emz, we actually have training in Futian and Shekou on Monday and Wednesday nights respectively. We don't have a girls-only team just yet but do have several ladies coming out each week for practice. Could you PM me your e-mail? I'll add you to our mailing list.
