HI Frank,

I was thinking of the guy more as some sort of character witness for the girls rather than any official sort of help.

I first went to HK in 1973 and stayed for a total of 18 years spread over four trips. I retired in 1999, but got bored and I've been coming to SZ on and off for the last 5 years. I live near Ke Xue Guan Station in the old part of Futian, which is an area which I really like.

The woman that I know well was the restaurant manager of the Difu Hotel in Zhenhua Lu, where I stayed before I got the flat. She married and moved to Hunan a while back, but is looking to return to SZ when the kid is old enough. She likes to come and get clothes and books once in a while, and also stay in touch with restaurant owners for when she will be looking for a job.

The problem may never occur if our admin guys show their usual brilliance - I may be stuck in the hotel till after they've gone. From previous experience they will shop until there's no money left and then "borrow" the train fare home. I'm hoping that they clean the flat before they leave.

Mike
