I sometimes organise, and I use the word in its loosest possible sense, social events, such as our Fridays Evening Dinners.  Up to now I’ve done it using sms, but it’s been a real pain.  I usually compose three or four different messages – one for regular attendees, one for occasional attendees who don’t know the meeting place, one for people I’ve not actually met yet, one for people who live a long way away, etc – then send them out and wait for the responses.  Then I wait for the…

Today my son informed me he has taken a new job. He is a TV news photographer and currently works in Asheville, North Carolina. Asheville is the 37th largest market in the country. His new job is in Atlanta, the 9th largest market in the country. This is a great step forward in his career, especially considering he finished university only four years ago,

I've been home for two weeks and one day... And already I'm back in real life.

Saying that I don't miss China would be a lie. I do to a certain extent. Quite strangely what I miss the most is the multi-lingual environment. I miss speaking English and Chinese. There is an advertisement for a  Visa Agent going around on various websites in Shenzhen.   The agent will promise you a visa of your choice and ask you to make payments to his bank account.

He will pretend to take care your things but after the money has been transfered he will keep contact with you. He will then tell you that your visa is on its way back yo you via EMS. After that you cant reach him and he wont contact you. His goes by the name Frank Zhang.
