▼We Will Never Forget You▼

How lovely it was to hear the untold story of how you and my mother met in 1958,
—as I heard it from her yesterday. She was with the IRS in charge of Banking and
Lawyers when you returned from London over a decade later. You were poised
to build a career in Banking. And holding yourself to a higher standard than
was the norm at the time, you both fought—with her help, never settling
for low-grade entry-level jobs others believed you deserved, until her
friend Mr. Selormey hired you. After meeting my aunt, a Christian
Scientist, you chose that path, helped raise us through Sunday
School, constantly and assertively but lovingly admonish-
ing us, “Go and take your book and read!” whenever we
were out of control. As my mother devoutly served in
the Presbyterian Church & my brothers attended
church less, it was the great audio experiences
I had in your Datsun 120Y, that nurtured
the character within. George, Francis,
Joanna & the entire Bedwel family is
mine too. Like your sweet smile, I
glow when I remember driving
you from Philadelphia to Bal-
timore, accompanied by my
Korean girlfriend at the
time; the great music
we enjoyed. It was
the last time we
said I love you
& I love you
too. Still
beloved
