Wow, wall of words!!
But I am really good at quickly digging out the key words "Chris wouldn't, as she is just a sweetie. ; )".
(^_^)
And that's an important point that was missed by people who commented on this blog earlier.
Really? I think not. Had he tested more people the result still would shown more people do. Depending on how he was testing them of course, I mean it's not like you can just 'ask' people if they are telling the truth is it. ; )
He does make a very flanneled look at the fact that we lie to ourselves but the 'why' is always more interesting than the 'what' Understand the 'why' and you understand the nature.
Sorry, not intended for me I know...just strolling by...
Mighty windy out there this morning.
Comment by THiNKTaNK on July 24, 2012 at 8:25am Hiya Crys,
The blog is basically about a book. I slightly modified the cover of the of the book. But basically, what you see above on the red background is the title of the book. The blog basically acts as a resource that familiarizes your with the arguments of the book as well as the (serious) conversation around the topic itself:
a) Most people lie
**The author admits that he didn't test "everybody" including "the saints". And that's an important point that was missed by people who commented on this blog earlier.
b) He makes the case that "We lie to ourselves" by RATIONALIZING bad or dishonest things we do
c) Most of the time, we do this by creating a distance between our actions or target(s) of our bad behaviors
d) We also often do this by taking advantage of cultures (office/business/work, country, environment/social, etc.) situations where we have a conflict of interest (have something to gain) from a situation and instead of removing ourselves or being honest about our position of advantage and how it could affect fair judgment/action, we instead often EXPLOIT IT.
e) All of this is possible also, because the environment we're operating in doesn't have CLEAR rules that hold people accountable. It has instead "fuzzy rules" and a lot of what we call "gray areas". So most people take advantage of that in being dishonest.
Because I'm a very detail-oriented person, I invented a system for my My Blog that I playfully call "Clicktronic" to deliver content in a balanced and highly useful way. This system basically allows and helps THE MOST CURIOUS OF EYES to go as deep as they want in exploring the issues and connecting the dots. Why? Because that's how my own mind works.
The image above (Clicktronic) shows you why you found the blog confusing. You missed the 4 parts because you haven't mastered the art of hovering (with your mouse) and clicking for content. It's actually very simple but most people aren't that attentive to what's on their own computer screens.
Hope the above helps. Have a pleasant day and be safe out there in the rough weather.
Comment by Crys on July 24, 2012 at 1:48am Dear T.T.,
Honestly the first thing in my mind was that: I didn't know I "lied" that much. The quotation mark is sort of a confusion that I am really not sure those were lie...

Comment by THiNKTaNK on July 14, 2012 at 2:30pm Glad you at least found your boyfriend Eminem here, Crys.
On being "distracted by the discussion here", it's all about focus, discipline, mental fortitude & attitude, really:

SzStuffers (like ahem...EQ Blonde and David) tend to enjoy certain topics ;-) and so a good host or visitors
alike must adapt, I think, to keep the camaraderie going. No?
Always be yourself though...Whatever's on your mind, however seemingly off topic, I'd say speak your mind. Dont feel you have to blend in. I embrace different perspectives so long as the commenter is respectful and specifically, doesn't have a reputation for uncouth behavior.
Hope you're having a lovely Saturday!
And by the way: What were you really thinking or hoping to add to the Blog? Really curious !!
Comment by Crys on July 14, 2012 at 12:44pm I came for the blog but was obviously distracted by the discussion here.
btw, an MV of Eminem :D Like!
Comment by THiNKTaNK on July 14, 2012 at 9:21am Haha :-)
Good Morning, y'all...EQ Blonde is really not an arse kicker. All she does is laugh at what I say or do which is why it's annoying she thinks I was going for the girl with the big boobs who'd been staring at me the whole time, you know. I mean, the girl is standing there wondering "I wonder how this cute Black guy fill-in-the-blank" and I'm standing in the middle of the train trying to focus on EQ Blonde whose back was turned to her, wondering...Hm...I wonder if she (Ms. BB) likes breakfast...I wonder how this girl over there (I call Ms. BB) staring at me likes her eggs in the morning: scrambled or fertilized.
I mean...random THiNKTaNK thoughts, you know.
What's so bad or dirty about that? Why does that make me a "lier, lier, lier"?
So unfair...So unfair, man. Talk to EQ Blonde. Brainwash her. I think there's been a big misunderstanding mang.
