O loving Father-Mother, God, thank you for making them approve my request thereby

freeing my hand, heart and mind to turn to my brother's urgent needs. Thank you for

reminding me that “outward worship is not of itself sufficient to express loyal and

heartfelt gratitude” for you have said through your beloved Son: “If ye love me,

keep my commandments.” Thank you for the blessed assurance that all is well

despite material evidence to the contrary for you taught me tonight before

sending me into the kitchen for two hours of cleaning and simultaneous

ministry that not only did you bless the world through Fanny Crosby

the hymn writer, but that movingly, you made Robert Frost wait

till age 39 before reaping major success through publication of

his first collection of poems, A Boy's Will (1913). Thank you

for showing Frost's pathway to maturity. How having lost

his heavy-drinking father to Tuberculosis his destitute

state of affairs forced him to drop out of college to

work. Having failed to become a published poet,

contemplating suicide, and eventually finding

solace in surrendering to you, he prospered

as he bore each hour of tribulation by fly

-ing the flag of hope in what he rightly

called God's Garden. And it is in that

selfsame Garden that you continue

to expose me simultaneously both

to realism and the transforming

power of your Love, which

moulds me from within &

designates and leads me

to your perfect plan;
