Hey, your guys and gals from US, Clinton and Obarma looks like the hottest electors so far, if they doesn't make big change in your future life but both of them are right for future US, then you have to vote one of them, can not disclaim, which one you gonna choose? the female one or the black one???

Well if Hillary Clinton make it, she will be the first female president of US. Everybody knows that the president's wife is First Lady, so is there any title for the female president's husband???

First, here is a little bit of information about the electoral process in the USA, which can be confusing. There are two rounds of elections. The first round is called the "primaries" and is organized by the political parties (Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, Greens, etc.) in order to determine the candidate that will represent each party in the national elections. For example, the Republican party has several candidates, including McCain, Huckabee, Paul, and Keyes. The party has to nominate one of them to run in the presidential election, so during the primary elections, the candidates campaign to win support from their party members, which include all voters that are registered as Republicans. Right now, McCain has a strong lead and is almost certain to win the Republican nomination.

The Democratic Party is in the process of doing the same thing, and the leading candidates are Clinton and Obama, although at this point it is too early to predict which one will win the Democratic nomination for the presidential election. As the Democratic nominee for the presidential election, one of them will run against the Republican nominee. So, the presidential election will most likely offer a choice between McCain, representing the Republican Party, and either Obama or Clinton, representing the Democratic Party. There will also be a nominee from each of the other parties (Green, Libertarian, Socialist, etc.) but in the United States these parties are so small that they are generally considered insignificant.

Regarding a choice between Obama or Clinton as the Democratic nominee, I hope that it is easy to understand that it is not a simple choice between "the female one" or "the black one". Each candidate has a platform of ideas and positions on key issues that they intend to pursue if they win the presidency, which is certainly more important to consider than their gender or their race. The Washington Post has a website that provides some summary information, that might be interesting to people who want to know more about each candidate's views and agenda.

Hopefully this information will help you to arrive at your own answers to the questions you asked.

As i know US presidents always from Democrats and Republicans, also i know Clinton and Obama they both are Democrats, only one will be the final candidate to compete with other parties. Actually i don't know exactly what speeches they made, i been watching CNN everyday recently, most time it just focus on Clinton and Obama, maybe i missed something, of couse i am not clear about this election quite well. But as somebody said that no matter Obama win or Clinton, it gonna be a change in US politics. I did not mean gender or race discrimination, to a normal citizen who has the option, as i supposed, neighter of them make big different in your future life but they are stand for Democrats' policy and advantage, which one you prefer to see, that's my point.

My expectation is the Republican candidate will win eventhough that party has not done a good job. This is because the American public is not yet ready to elect a female or black president.

For Cliff, you did a great job to try and shed some light on the political process, especially the parties involved.

For Debbie, Cliff made a good point about its not a black one or female one. Both of these democrats running for president are firsts in our history. Their political platforms and goals should be considered.

From the republican party, it looks like John McCain will be the canidate.
From the democrats, its still uncertain, Obama or Clinton

For me, I am excited to see how things turn out. I have no political affiliation. I will vote for the best man, no let me rephrase that...best person for the job.
When I was home for Christmas I saw an interview with Hillary which really "stuck in my mind." She said, "if I am president of the United States, I will RUN the government." I thought she meant that she is going to be the boss and she will try everything she can in order to reach her goals or get what she wants. Coming from her, this is a very strong statement.
She was the presidents wife or "first lady" while Wild Bill was in office. She knows the job well and what to expect from such a position. Also, she has been in politics most of her life.

I do not know very much about Hilary's political platforms though. I do think she is a good prospect for the Democratic party. Also, some things need a "woman's touch."

Obama has a strong backing (Oprah Winfrey support) although I also do not know much about his platform. I will defenitely check out cliff's link.

Which one am I gonna choose???

I still don't know yet. I figured I would wait and see which canidate my fellow country folk elect as the democratic canidate. Ask me again after the primaries :)

I like both of them and would not mind if one was president and the other were to become Vice president. I don't know if this is possible or not though...

And you Debbie, which one would you like to see run for the democrats???

Its an absolute joke either way.... there really is no difference between democrats or republicans or libertarians or green party or any of it...

and the end of the day, the "vote" (hanging chads in florida anyone?) is just there so people think they have a say in government...

The US govt is one of, if not THE, most corrupt , evil system on the planet...

we torture people, spy on our citizens, start wars to cover up current topics, and use fear to gain control of the population...

I reallly dont care who the next president is... it really makes no difference.... but whoever they are, they will be inheriting the most fucked up presidency ever....

the US dollar is going to continue to decline, things will get much worse, inflation will take off.... and the general population isnt smart enought to realize it was the actions of the previous president that put us in that situation... and they will blame the sitting president...

in other words, a black man or a woman will be taking the blame for fucking up the country..

I cant say I really care..... I live in china..... I never cared when I lived in the states....

those flag waving, Bush loving, tabloid reading, Fox news addicted, Mcdonalds eating buffoons can keep doing what they are doing.... their constant need to spend and to be better than the next guy is what keeps my bank accounts growing.

The country is absolutely beautifull, and I miss the west coast.... but as far as the citizens and government in general, they are all sheep and have little idea about whats going on in the rest of the world aside from what they are told.

I think Obama is the right guy for the office. We really need to get away from the old, rich white professional politician and vote in someone that will bring something new to the table. McCain is just another 4 years of what we already got, but Obama has some really good plans, he's younger and to be quite honest: it might actually do some good for the USA, if a black man with a Muslim background were to take office. He could really shake thing up, if he was to give Clinton the VP position as well.

it wouldnt be a surprise to see another horrible incident (this time in the west coast) that surpasses 9/11 to bring about a call off on the nov. election... which allows bush co. to remain in power for undefinite time

pass the salt please
