So things are on the move for me. I've made a decision to move to Vienna. When and why? At the end of October so that I can make some sort of career for myself. That's something that, as a bassist, I can't achieve here. Before I came here I was a teacher who played solo sets with half hour original compositions. I'm leaving here as a bassist. I haven't taught, composed or studied advanced techniques in a year. It's a length of time that will be quite detrimental to any skill that you don't use w…

So when dealing with demons you have to first know what they are. Me, I know what they are and have known for a while. It's now however that I'm going to try and do something about it. The main time in my life when I haven't been a procrastinator to the highest degree is when I first started to play bass. As soon as my hands touched that instrument I craved it all the time. I holed myself up in my room for about a year playing the roles of both teacher and pupil. When I looked up after that time…

To believe in something that requires being blind is fairly self depricating, right?
As far as I can see, religion is used to pass-the-buck when things go wrong. It's a reason to be a good person. A method of feeling better after you maybe made a mistake in life. A reason to love. When people think about their god, they smile and feel good and safe.
Sounds good. Though my problem lies within responsibility for oneself. To have enough respect for yourself to take responsibility for everything y…

Chinese generalize.
Or would it be better to say: the Chinese people that I've met generalize.
Or maybe: most the Chinese people I've met generalize?
Well, two of the statements are lies so the choice is obvious. A question I was asked at my visa interview took me off guard. After explaining why I would take a huge pay cut and change jobs in order to play covers in a bar, I was asked, "do all people from your country not think about money?". To me, even asking a question like that is ludicr…

Wow...
... wow
There's no other word to describe the past couple of days.
Well first off was the rain. I left my house for work as normal shortly after nine. I went in my usual direction but couldn't because the water was deeper than my shoes. I went round the other side of the hotel I walk past and it was the same. Fairly confused, I saw that the back door was open and I could use that to get to the front entrance through the building. Great, I thought, that is until I reached the fro…

So both Mike and Jim mentioned you to me many times here. and your pics are nice..
I'll have a look through the myspace site. I'm sure that I've commented on some of yours in the past, and as I often go to your page I look then. I'm currently thinking about the chameleon bit [me far more than you] and will write something if it's worth writing.

I found that Killers track - it was worrying me - it's on a Freebie CD given out by the Sunday Times a few months ago.

Dan's injuries are much worse than mine I'm told, but I didn't get to feel her bumps for myself. Mine is quite small.
I dropped J!M off in Gang Xia and actually got the taxi to take me right to my building - they usually won't do it. I hope that J!M got some good pictures, but it's a pity Kelly wasn't there as well - scared of the rain, as was Louise.
I certainly enjoyed you guys, but I was in no condtion to carry on longer. Four days doesn't come close to dealing with the jet-lag. Did you see Jane's loving comment to me?
Mike
