I have friends from all the Countries you've been to. I'm from Australia, live in Hong Kong, spend time in Guangdong (of course Shenzhen). I have been to Thailand, Vietnam, Laos. I've also been to the airport in the Philippines and Malaysia (which hardly counts).

Both of the movies you mentioned are in my favorite list and i like them of course. Especially Midnight Cowboy, when Dustin died in Joe's arms, kinda a shocking scene.

My Own Private Idaho is a little bit too dark for me, if I may say so, but surely it is a wonderful movie, River Phoenix's performance is astonishing.
